Angel_Falls_36 Jungle Tours
Excursions in the jungle are in charge of tourism operators, properly supported by the local authority, INPARQUES, for organizing and conducting guided walks of ethnic indigenous "Pemon." To provide better facilities to tourists from other countries, some guides speak other languages such as English, French and Italian.

Some tours are subject to the conditions of navigability of the river, as usually done in the rainy season because the river level rises and is an appropriate occasion to execute it, mainly between June and November.

Tips for trips:
Carry little luggage and light clothes: shorts, shirt, shoes, cap, hat, poncho or raincoat, sunscreen, swimsuit, video or photographic camera.

Among the most important sightseeing can be highlighted:

Kavak Half Day Tour ...

Near the base of the table mountain Auyantepui you find the Kavac ecological Camp run by the indigenous community of Kamarata. The camp has about 20 churuatas (small huts) built in a traditional style of the indigenous population The Pemóns. Here you are kindly treated by the Pemones living in the area.

kavak_canaima The start of this tour is carried out from the Canaima airport in a small aircraft flying over the Auyantepuy plateau where you will see the Angel Falls on your flight to the Kamarata area, we will land on the landing strip of Kavak Indian village, from here we will make a 20 minutes walk through the savannah with forest and jungle until we reach the entrance of the Cave of Kavak where you will see a small creek giving you a chance to have a refreshing swim. We continued walking along the little river and we will arrived at the Kavac Cannon, the deepest and biggest part of the cave, here you find an impressive waterfall with its lagoon for swimming and having fun, after that we will return to the camp where lunch is waiting for us.

cuerva_kavak The attraction of this tour is the visit to the impressive cave of Kavak which has river, lake and cascade inside. These caves have apoximadamente about 1200-1600 million years old and his mystical combination and design make it one of the most whimsical and unexpected in a geological fault from prehistory to decorate with water making it and turned into a form curioza cave.

salto_yuri_falls Half-Day Trip ...

Yuri El Salto is a natural attraction torrent type.
It's a nice little jump height, which offers visitors the chance to bathe.
- Canaima Camp is exited and made a crossing in the Sabana jeep to Puerto Verde. Here you take a canoe and a half hour browsing to Puerto Yuri, from where it began a walk of about 30 minutes to get to the falls and Yuri beach, where you can take a refreshing and relaxing bath, then return back to camp.

Aspects of interest are the black waters of the river Carrao, the common denominator of most of the rivers that form part of the Caroni River Basin. This water has a very dark color, usually a brown hue - red, which is caused by the high concentration of organic acids and tannins. The foam is produced in large quantities in the rapids and waterfalls, is caused by the high content of saponins (natural soap plant) is dissolved in water and stir as many trapped air bubbles.

Review title Tapuy - “se esfuerza mucho, y lo consigue.”

This reviewer told us :
